In February 2017, a few fellow cyclists from the Shutt Ridley Racing Team organised a training trip to Calpe in Spain. A well-known pre-season cycling destination for many cyclists keen to escape the final throws of winter and get a taste of sunshine and warmth. We who were left behind were subjected to a barrage of scenic photos, depicting clear blue skies with tales of leisurely café stops in the Spanish sun. Colin Lynch Joins Shutt Velo Rapide as Sales Director
Shutt Velo Rapide is pleased to announce that former Paralympian, Colin Lynch, will be joining the team as Sales Director. Colin is a Paralympic Games medalist, 2-time Paracycling World Champion, Hour Record holder and winner of multiple National Championships, World Cup and World Championships medals in an impressive nine-year career with the Irish national cycling team. Wind, rain, sleet, snow, hail… oh and lots of sun… all the weathers, it must be spring. Sunday the 17th March can certainly be counted as an incredible early spring day and ticked all the boxes for an event in the ‘Classics’ season. Whilst the pros were taking a well earned rest from the cobbles and crosswinds of Flanders, I joined over 300 brave riders on the quickly growing flandarian styled Cotswold Cyclo - a spectacular event which shows off, I believe, some of England's best cycling roads (come at me Yorkshire). Shutt Ridley RT Rides Calpe
The annual team training camp was destined for Calpe for 2019. Heading out were team riders Justin Belcher, Jered Allcock, Gareth Harvey, James Beechey, Peter Dumbreck, Jos Busby, and new rider Bobby Bd.
After the ups and down of last year, mostly involving the weather, the team were looking forward to some summer sun and long climbs to test the legs.
